Thanks to everyone for the suggestions!!!

after reading all the ideas it suddenly dawned on me
that i am in the process of planning the finishing of
my basement... it just so happens that where the
washer and dryer are currently located happen to be
just outside the planned location of the new ham
shack.. so i got to thinking why not make the hamshack
a foot and a half wider and use the existing dryer
vent hole through the wall?!?!?!?!? its a terrible
sacrifice to make the room wider, but , i figured why
comprimise the structural integrity of the house by
cutting yet another hole ;-)

so in the interest safety i guess i have no choice but
to make the shack bigger unless someone can refute my
logic ???

of course this epiphany (spelling??) comes while i am
sitting in the garage filing an 1 5/8 wrench to fit
my 1 11/16 tower bolts, i couldnt find the correct
size so i bought 1 5/8 and started filing... never
underestimate the power of Anheuser Busch....
