Optoelectronics does indeed make an excellent freq counter and has done so for
many years. I have one of their Model 2810 units - rarely used and in excellent
shape - that I was just about to put on E-Bay, but before I do, if whoever was
looking for one would contact me "direct" perhaps we can work a deal. Thanks
for the bandwidth, 73, Jerry K3BZ

  http://www.optoelectronics.com/cub.htm
  CUB - Frequency Counter
  $159

  1MHz - 2.8GHz frequency range
9 digit LCD display for better visibility and longer battery life
6 hour discharge time from full charge
  8 selectable gate times
High speed .0001 second gate time
1MHz - 250MHz direct count capability for high resolution

I bought a 1 Gig counter from them in 1976 and its still in
calibration. Carried it in my truck for years.
