Your plan should be to get yourself a Building Permit. Such a permit is usually 
required for anything that includes pouring a concrete foundation. This is not 
a Special Permit, a Conditional Use Permit or a Variance. The Building Permit 
is only issued if the Building Inspector [aka Zoning Enforcement Agent] has 
certified that the project meets whatever is required by the zoning bylaws. The 
inspections and certification provided prior to final signoff of the Building 
Permit also give you a leg to stand on in the event there is a future problem 
with the structure. Getting a Building Permit is a GOOD thing to do.
