[TowerTalk] W6AM - "Don Wallace transformer?"

I just came across, in a junk box, an old (appears to be thirties, maybe 
earlier) transformer clearly labeled
"Don Wallace Transformer, type CH1."  Anyone know if this is named for W6AM?
