Fidel, there was a discussion of the ideal relays to use for this kind of application on the TowerTalk list several months back. Although there were some opinions that Radio Shack's typical relays were not suitable, I have used them on several occasions with no apparent problems. I usually used the relays with the 12 VDC coils and contacts rated at 15A, if I remember correctly.

Hi, my name is Fidel, and my callsign is EA3LF.

Although not entirely related with amplifiers, I have a question for high-power requirements...

I am planning to homebrew a remote antenna switch, but I am not sure about the kind of relay I could use to handle 1 kW.

Please, could anybody give me any advice about adequate items?

Thanks in advance, and 73!
