Thanks Steve. The Phillystran is terminated with big grip/thimble and
shackled to 1/4 EHS. The short EHS (10 foot) has grip/thimble on each end
with turnbuckle attached to elevated anchor post. So, it's okay to measure
with LOOS on the short EHS?

Keith

You mean technique or spec? You'll need something to measure the tension
(10% of the breaking strength - in this case 670 pounds). The best and
cheapest tool is the LOOS PT-2 tensioner. And it's accurate too.
Seventy-nine bucks at www.championradio.com.

Hopefully you used regular EHS steel guys to the anchor because there's no
way to measure HPTG6700 Phillystran directly - it's too big to fit into the
guy wire hook on the LOOS. In that case you'll need a Phillystran Preform
grip on the Phillystran and a Dillon tensionometer and comealong to measure
the tension. Leaving the Phillystran termination up in the air and having
EHS to the anchor keeps the Phillystran away from potential vandals and fire
- both of which are potentially fatal to Phillystran but steel guys are
mostly impervious to them.
