Come on, gang; What does a callsign have to do with anything other than a
being good CW call or a good 'phone call? The only important measure of our
Ham Radio 'goodness' is our on-air and off-air skills, attitudes and
behavior. My call tells you very little about me anymore -- not even my call
area. Sure, the 1x2 means extra class, but it says nothing about when nor
where, nor what I had to do to get it. And it doesn't matter. Let's just
judge each other on our behavior; and that includes our behavior on this
reflector. Hams-to-be, as well as hams-anonymous should be welcome. If we
choose to pontificate (present company included) our words ought to be able
to stand on their own merit without requiring some ambiguous credential. Am
I proud of my call? You bet! But I choose to sign it out of habit; that's
all.

Chuck, N4NM
