Don't know the specifics for this year--but in years past Jay and Sharon have busted their butts all summer trying to get stuff shipped to those doing summer-time upgrades and repairs and then they take off on vacation just before CQWW and try to recoup for a bit before they do their V26 operation in the CQWW SSB contest.
I assume they are on Antigua by now. And I usually hear from Jay fairly often--but not this summer. Which only means they have been busier than ever (their business continues to grow very rapidly) and probably need this vacation even more than in previous years.
PLAN AHEAD is probably a good idea. I think it was Dave Leeson who once said that he never made changes to his station in the last week or two before a contest. Just too many things that can go wrong.
See: http://www.mscomputer.com for "Self Supporting Towers", "Wireless Weather Stations", and lot's more. Call Toll Free, 1-800-333-9041 with any questions and ask for Sherman, W2FLA.
