This past summer I replaced all the cables on my HDX-589.  This was only
a PM job...nothing was wrong, but it has been over 6 yrs, so I thought I
should change them.

I found US tower to be very helpful guiding me through the job.
The will sell you a "cable package" with everything you need.  It may be
more expensive than brewing your own, but the benefit is you can talk to
them about the "tricks" to doing it right.  I ended up talking to Jody
at the eastern plant...he has lots of experience with changing cables
and gave some good advice.
Make sure you have a come-a-long handy....that helps a lot.
