I am still thinking about replacing my trusty TH6DXX with another antenna this
spring. After more than 30 years in the air, it needs to be retired and sold.
Hi.

OK, I have been looking at a number of beams (SteppIR, LPDA, etc) and have come
back for a questions about Force-12 from you Force-12 users. You can reply to
me directly so as not to clog up the works here on TT...but there may be others
out there that would like the information you have.

I am looking at getting a C3E....but.....I would like to have 40 meter coverage
with the C4E. That is all the bigger I want to go. From looking at the
literature, the C4E has a 40 meter dipole mounted on the boom. How does that
antenna play on 40? I understand that the antenna would play as a C3 on 20 to
10....but how does it play on 40? I know there is no gain on the C4E on 40
meters, but do I get an advantage that is worth it by moving my 40 meter dipole
antenna that is a 45 feet to where the beam would be at 65 feet? Does the cost
justify the expense from a C3E to a C4E.

I like to use 40 for casual CW QSOs....but love the band during a contest.

The answers may be obvious, but I have to get sense of it in my brain.
