Hi all
I want to construct a 4:1 HF Balun from readily available materials. I have the
14AWG EC wire and some ferrite rods of the sort used in MW BC radios.
There's plenty of info in the ham literature covering the constructional of
such a beast but I cant find any advice as to what determines the max RF power
handling capability.
I should think the size of wire proposed would be adequate for ham powers and I
read that the 2 bifiler wires must be as closely coupled as possible. I guess
the size and composition of the ferrite rod has an influence on the freq
coverage but wonder how much it effects power handling?
Any advice gratefully received.
