WARNING!!! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH KB4IDC

CONSIDER THIS A PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT AND WARNING
NOT TO BUY ANYTHING FROM K4IDC, ex-KB4IDC

In June, in response to a posting on THIS reflector made by Robin Midgett,
K4IDC, (then KB4IDC), I agreed to purchase some rohn torque arms and rohn
guy brackets that had been cold galvanized, along with the rohn hardware for
same.

What I received was:

1) One tower inner bracket that K4IDC FABRICATED, with (he ADVERTISES
himself as a Metal Fabricator) made with two holes drilled SO CLOSE
to each other that it is unavoidable the tiny metal space in-between would
break
and compromise the guy system and the tower!
2) Torque arms with LARGE Burrs and metal slag
3) Torque arms with metal wires that had NOT been removed
before galvanizing.
4) UNSAFE GRADE 2 nuts and bolts, NOT the ROHN SPEC GRADE 5
bolts which are standard for these items. This was CONFIRMED by tower talk
subscribers!

NONE OF THESE DEFECTS & OMISSIONS WERE DISCLOSED AND NONE WERE VISIBLE IN
THE PHOTOGRAPHS THAT HE CHOSE TO SEND!

When I sent an angry email describing the omissions and misrepresentations
and a demand for a FULL REFUND here is what happened:

Did I get an apology? NO!
Did he offer to FABRICATE a NEW, SAFE inner tower bracket? NO!
Did I get an offer to provide the agreed upon hardware? NO! I got response
that said he (A METAL FABRICATOR, NO LESS!!) did not know that they were
supposed to be Grade 5 Bolts and instead gave me the name of someone at Rohn
SO THAT I COULD BUY THEM (AGAIN!) !
Did I get a refund? NO! He said that he would NOT take them back and that I
should never email him again!
Mr. Midgett stated that "I got what I paid for" and that there would be NO
REFUND and never to email him again.
Mr. Midgett took NO responsibility for his WILLFUL OMISSIONS AND
MISSTATEMENTS and simply washed his hands of this transaction which was
outright FRAUDULENT!

In addition, when previously responding to my statements on THIS reflector,
Mr. Midgett DELIBERATELY referred to pictures that DID NOT show the damage
to and defects of the items! Of course, he FAILED TO MENTION THIS RELEVANT
FACT to the towertalk readers in his disingenuous towertalk response. Mr.
Midgett also failed to acknowledge the fact that had he HONESTLY disclosed
and shown (in his pictures) the damage and defects to these items, I WOULD
NOT HAVE BOUGHT THEM AT ANY PRICE!

I have the emails and would be glad to forward them to anyone that is
interested.

If Mr. Midgett had any sense of responsibility for HIS omissions, and
misrepresentations, K4IDC, ex-KB4IDC would have cheerfully offered a FULL
REFUND, but I would have considered:

A) His providing me the CORRECT hardware that he was supposed to provide in
the first place and a partial refund and another Inner Bracket PROPERLY
DRILLED!
B) A partial refund so that I could buy the hardware that he was supposed to
provide
C) A reduced purchase price that would take into account the problems
mentioned above.

However, he chose to do NOTHING except and accept NO responsibility!

I was RIPPED OFF! In 10 years of buying things from sellers on Towertalk
and
QTH.NET I have NEVER run into a situation where someone who omitted, erred
or misrepresented items would not cheerfully take them back for a full
refund.

In selling more than 1200 items in Ebay I have never had even one Neutral or
Negative. I believe in FULL DISCLOSURE and I practice it on EACH AND EVERY
TRANSACTION!

Mr. Midgett DELIBERATELY FAILS TO DISCLOSE defects and problems,
MISREPRESENTS items, makes mistakes and then STICKS YOU THE BUYER with
results. His manner is IRRESPONSIBLE AND DISHONEST and you should AVOID
dealing with him!

Frankly, for his willful and intentional conduct and REFUSAL to make this
right, I believe that he should be thrown off this reflector, and since he
chose to advertise and sell these items on THIS reflector, it is ENTIRELY
RELEVANT
that his irresponsible conduct and defective products be addressed here.

OTHER items that that Mr. Midgett might have advertised on this reflector
and transactions consummated with subscribers are NOT relevant to discussion
of THIS transaction. EACH AND EVERY TRANSACTION STANDS ALONE!

This is about how Mr. Midgett has conducted business and what he has tried
to get away with when he though he could.

If you insist on doing business with Mr. Midgett carefully consider what I
have said and can easily document through forwarding of HIS pictures and
emails and his COMPLETE lack of responsibly and interest in making this
right!

Finally, ask yourself how you would feel if the car that you bought had two
bolt holes in the suspension (where there was supposed to be only ONE hole)
that were drilled SO CLOSE TOGETHER that when under stress at some point the
metal would crack, the car would shift and you might have a high-speed
accident! Then imagine that the CAR SELLER KNEW about this defect and
REFUSED TO TELL YOU ABOUT IT and in pictures of the car, FAILED TO SHOW IT!

Now imagine a 130' Rohn 45 tower with this defective bracket cracking in a
70 mph wind gust. Imagine what COULD happen to the bracket and the guys and
the tower when everything shifted and became unbalanced in the wind and/or
ice.
