A well designed Yagi will beat the pants off of a vertical. I would mount
it below the other Yagi with vertical polarization to get the best
performance with the repeaters on FM. OTOH if the desire were to work weak
signal rather than FM, I would put it above with horizontal polarization.

(No, I don't mean a 6' long 8-legged creature!) After moving into this house
over a year ago, I am just now getting my shack together an the antennas
back up.
I wonder which would be a better setup:

ARX2B vert mounted on top of the TA-33 at 40', which would put the tip of
the antenna at about 55', or

A1483S mounted below the TA-33 which would put it at about 37'.

I know that the beam is almost 3db more in gain than the vert and I already
have the vert. The beam would cost $70.
I already have the vert up on a seperate 30'push-up with disappointing
results.
I live about 45 miles NW of Tampa and with the present setup, I have lots of
trouble hearing/talking to repeaters in the Tampa area.
I would not mind spending the $70 for the beam if I knew that it would do
what I wanted.
Your thoughts and comments will be appreciated!
