It might be the south... no kidding.. maybe it's the red dirt and heat and
humidity leads to a more laissez faire attitude about doing "non-standard"
things.   A friend was commenting that when a crew came out to replace the
pole transformer behind his house (with a brand new 50 kVA unit... clearly
it's time for him to invest in a big linear: why let that capacity go to
waste) they were from Alabama, and we're in Los Angeles.
