This is a fallacy which should end. Higher is not always better.

You can get into a situation where there are 10 or more lobes, and
each of those lobes will take a portion of the total power fed into
the antenna.

It is also possible with such thinking that you will put a primary
arrival angle right smack in the middle of a null.

Plan first for what you need before you go higher. Stacking should
always receive precedence to achieve the desired angle for the
"footprint" you want.
