One aspect of the CATS RD-1800 not mentioned in the article is that it
is compatible with any of the old CDE/HyGain analog control boxes,
including the Ham-II, Ham-III, Ham-IV and T2X. If you have an old
control box laying around, that makes the price of a new RD-1800 quite
reasonable for its heft.
