A lot of these easements are a scam to buy the
land on the cheap. The seller thinks he is
going to be able to continue to farm or whatever,
but the easement holder keeps taking him to court
for violating some technicality of the easement.
Eventually the farmer gives up and quits farming.
Which is what the environmental types wanted in
the first place.
