Hi to TT,

Anyone using the 2800DC rotator MUST use a separate line for the reed
switch. I believe this should be coax as suggested by M2. However, M2
suggests it could be necessary for really long runs. I would never install
another M2 regardless of the length of run without running separate coax
line (RG-58 is good) for the reed lines. I had nothing but problems until I
replaced the reed line with coax. I used some RG-59 to the base of the
tower and actually used LMR-400 (I know it is overkill) from the base of the
antenna to the rotator. No problems since then and it gets used multiple
times daily for about 2 or 3 months so far and zip problems.

If I have the occasion to do this type install again I will use the 2800dc
because I like the rotator but I would run RG-58 for the reed line from the
start.

As reported earlier I do get a little noise when it is rotating.

I have a M2 Orion and yes it is realy a rf nois generator. This one is used
for the multiplier antenna. But I got another problem. He still loose
the correct heading.I'f I calibrate it it is in the correct heading but a
few turns and some he is 25 -40 or 60 degrees of.
Sould that be because there is a long run of cable probely arond 80m but I
use heavy wire (1.5mm to the tower and around 18m 0.75mm to the rotor), or
sould it be because I change the head off thereedrelay.
The rotor was sitting almost for a year in my home ,and when before
installing i got a error. This whas coming because the reed relay whas
closed always to the high magnetism.I moved the reedrelay house i little up
and it turned ok.Everething whas ok on the bench !

any help ?

I'd like to resolve this before this weekend. Has anybody dealt with this
problem? What do you suggest? I am thinking about installing an EMI line
filter on the DC drive lines just outside the rotor.
