Story from WWII, maybe apochryphal -- British commandos needed to keep their 
sidearms dry, and a condom manufacturer offered to make some really big ones 
that could be used for this purpose. Churchill heard about it and OK'd the 
idea, so long as the condoms were all stamped "Medium."
