I am at the end of my slow motion tower project. Is there anything
wrong with the following plan?

I have a US Towers 89' HDX589, with a M2 OR2800 mounted correctly,
and the eccentric locking collar/thrust bearing.....

On the ground is the 250 lb 3 el 40 / 5 el 20 on a 50' boom up on
sawhorses, with the mast attached and the boom struts tightened....

The crane guy stopped by and said "no problem", it would be easy
for me at the top of the tower to guide the mast through the thrust
bearing....

So the question - since the OR2800 can support a vertical load of
1800 lbs, do we just lower the mast/antenna until it is resting on
the rotor plate, tighten the clamps, and then tighten the eccentric
locking collar? Or do we lower it to an inch above the rotor plate,
tighten the eccentric locking collar, then tighten the clamps, so
there is no weight on the rotor?

I seem to recall with my old TH7 and T2X rotor that the idea of the
thrust bearing was to take the antenna weight off of the rotor. That
was sooooo long ago, I just don't remember what I did.

Thanks, Bill KO7AA/WB0O in Tucson
