There is a very good possibility that we will
become neighbors by years-end. We are working on
relocating to the greater-Charleston area from FL.
Is this ferrous slag rock common there?
Sounds like a wonderful reflector for a NVIS
antenna! :-)
It is the slag left over from smelting steel etc. So it has a high metal
content. I did not know that some of it had such a high content untill this
weekend when I was working on a truck and lost a screw.
I tried to use a magnet to find it and ended up with rocks attached to the
magnet... lol
I also found that in that area 147.27mhz is useless but that may have nothing
to do with the driveway or a combination of the driveway and the cable tv
system ...etc.
As for the bands. I run everything from 10 to 80meters No antenna for 160 yet
but I am working on one...
