The quad was developed by W9LZX in 1942. I have RADIO magazine from 1936-1942
and the W8JK was used in 1936. The yagi was introduced to hams in 1935 by Mims,
W5BDB in the pages of QST. I can send some pictures of directive arays from
RADIO from the 1930's by private e-mail.
