Or consider purchasing one of the 40m yagi's which is designed to be a
bit more closely spaced.  My Optibeam OB2-40 is only about 8 feet
above my SteppIR and it works ok.  There is a little interaction, but
not too bad.  Force12 makes a couple of different 40m yagi's which can
be mounted only 3 or 4 feet above a tribander.
