Just curious,
Is the base size different for guyed/unguyed use? Just wondering. Never
done
a guyed tower before..

Yes, bases for unguyed towers are almost always substantially bigger than a
corresponding guyed tower. Reason: Overturning momentum caused by wind is
compensated for by the guys. In an unguyed tower, the base must do all the
work.
