Yes, I have a G2800 and it was behaving in a similar manner
after a severe thunderstorm.        Yaesu repaired the
control box for about $80 or so.  I'm not home and I forget
the components that were replaced, but a good thing to check
first is the voltage going to the rotor.  If it is low (I
believe it should be about 8 VDC), check the voltage
regulator on the top board.  It also should be 8 VDC.  If
not, it's your problem, or at least one of the problems.
