If it shows only resistance and no reactance, I'd check he meter's
calibration.
Sounds like I'm joking but I'm not. A perfect, infinite ground should
give you about 36 ohms. Anything less than perfect should add
resistance, not subtract it.
Having said that, I should add a qualifier: It might be possible to
add some kind of impedance transforming device between the coax braid
and the connection to ground which might cause a lower reading, but I
was talking about a direct ground connection.
