Looking for suggestions/opinions...

I have a LDG AT-100PRO hooked up to 25' of RG-8X, into an LDG 4:1
balun feeding a 51'/leg dipole fed by 450 ohm ladder line. The
purpose of this setup was to get the balun mounted remotely
(outside), 30' directly below the apex of the dipole. This set up
works nicely, but maybe there is a better way.

The LDG balun is a mechanical joke (IMHO), but fit the "temporary"
need at the time. I figured the 4:1 was a better choice over the 1:1
in the case.

I'm thinking of upgrading the balun to something a bit more
robust. In your vast opinions, should I stick with a 4:1 balun to
feed the ladder line; use a 1:1, or do something completely different.

Understand, the LDG does not have the option to run the ladder line
directly to the back of the tuner.

If I was to stick with and buy a 4:1 balun, what would you recommend
for this application?
