Back in my novice days (coal fired rigs) another trick
was to buy a Gotham beam and just use the elements.
As I remember, the "boom" was not too sturdy.
Along with my Elmer KM1A (W1ZFF), got two Gotham 3 el
15's and used the elements to build a monster 6 el on
a REAL boom.
Worked great, but when we told guys it was a Gotham,
they sounded a bit incredulous!
and all for about 50 bucks!!
