Folks,

What methods can be employed to avoid damaging Yagis used as
top loading on shunt loaded towers? Apparently this is only
an issue with Yagis having insulated driven elements? I've
read references to using relays to ground driven elements
when not in use but that creates its own set of problems
such as reliability, etc. My top loading will consist of an
M2 KT-36XA at 102' and a Cushcraft XM-240 at 115' both of
which use insulated driven elements. I don't want to toast
the balun(s) and need to take them back down for repair.

TIA, Bob K6ZZ
