I use a butane soldering tool from Radio Shack, Model 64-2188. Does a great job. The key is to use the silver or gold flashed connectors. The Nickel ones do not want to take solder. I also carry along a butane candle lighter, trying to light the iron with the 'flint striker' is problematic. The candle lighter gets the job done.
