Yup, we did the same. Some almost to 40 feet with two hand ropes and a
single walk rope between them with no safety harness, the only Engineer on
site was the Scout Master, it is amazing we are still alive: -)
The game was how fast you could climb one tower and walk across 50 feet and
come down the other tower.

that were lashed togather with rope......early oil derricks were made from
