M2 gain and front to back measurements are generally very reliable.
There is no technical way for the Mosley to have 8 dbd as a shortened
antenna.

Hello all. I'm about ready to buy and wanted to ask the group their thoughts
on my picks.

M2 - 40M3L
http://www.m2inc.com/index2.html<http://www.m2inc.com/index2.html>

Gain 4.46 dbd
FB 20 db
Boom 29'7"
Area 9.5 sq/ft
Radius 28'
Price $1200.00

Mosley - S-403
http://www.mosley-electronics.com/spec%20files/amateur/s403.htm<http://www.m
osley-electronics.com/spec%20files/amateur/s403.htm>

Gain 8.0 dbd (is this real?)
FB 25 db
Boom 36'
Area 12 sq/ft
Radius 34'
Price $2100.00

Had considered the Hy-gain Discovery, but it being a 2el with a add-on was
not
sure about it.
I like the Mosley as I have a CL-33 that's 30 years old and still going
strong.
Yet a claim of 8 dbd gain? mmmmm....

Understanding also there are 2 different types of linear loadings. Also
some
price differences too.

Anyway, any advice is appreciated. Or any antenna's I havent thought about.
