I have the full harness with fall arrest, but I still much prefer the
ol', well examined Kline free floating belt. Even being a mix of leather
for the pad, and neoprene impregnated nylon for load bearing as well as
the pole strap (which I use with the body harness as well) the belt is
lighter and more comfortable. OTOH the think it's between 5 and 6 inches
high where it bears against the body so it's well cushioned
(comfortable) and being free floating lets you turn with out the harness
pulling against you.
