Normally when a tower is bracketed to something, it has one leg toward
that something and the two hinged legs away which allows the tower to
tilt directly away from what ever it's bracketed to.
I'm planning on bracketing a 25G to the end of the shop a bit
differently. The two hinged legs will face to the NW which will put two
legs parallel with the gable end of the shop. Now the fascia and eves
are 2 X 10's and not thin boards so there is substantial strength in
those areas. However the 50' tower will be guyed at roughly the 45'
level as well. "The bracket" (at roughly 16') consists of a 2' long, 4"
wide, X 1/4" steel plate bolted to the gable end. It has two stand offs
made of 3/4" square steel tube welded to the surface at right angles to
that surface. There are plates on the ends of the stand offs at 120
degrees that will allow saddle clamps to hold the two back tower legs to
the bracket and the tower will tip right into them.
