In the photo I'm in the process of making a cover for the seal recess.
Yours has a metal cover over that area, which is good, but not a cure
all for wind driven rain. By the looks of it I'd say it's older than
mine, but AFAIK the cover didn't come out until later so it may be
newer. OTOH it is not the new version that has been on the market for
several years. The old ones use an AC motor while the new ones use a DC
BTW the large worm gear wheel in these is bronze pressed or cast onto a
steel hub. I ordered one and never did get it. I'm not sure what the
new ones use. The closeness of the manufacturer of the Alpha Spid,
lower cost, and more readily available parts is my reason for choosing
the Alpha Spid over the ProSisTel rotators which I do like.
