Unfortunately, I'm not local for you or I would put the tower up for you. I do
it without a gin pole, since R25 is quite manageable.
I'm 5'8" and tip the scales at 150 and I have put up many R25's without a pole.
Taking them down is a different story since many people who put them up
tighten the bolts so tight they crush the legs. I've even had to use hydraulic
jacks on some and at that, there was one I simply had to walk away from since
it was so bad.

I go to the top of what's there and stick my leg inside the tower, pull the new
section up, stuff it, bolt it and continue the climb.
Many people can't (or won't) do it this way bcuz they are either afraid of this
method or they cannot remove their leg from between the rungs on Rohn towers,
as the rungs are a bit closer than the American-style tube tower.
At 62 years old I still do towers and plan to put up 150 feet of R55 here this
spring, tho, at 100 Lbs a section, I'll use 2 gin poles, one to handle the
tower and the other one to handle the heavy gin pole I use for R55 (it's a 3/8"
thick 3 inch diameter tube, 15 feet long). The typical gin pole for the light
towers is 12 to 13 feet long and easy to handle.

Anyway, best luck with your tower and I hope you can find a gin pole. Ask
around on the local repeaters there and I'm sure you'll either find a pole or
better yet, some one who will fly the tower for you. Offer a case of beer and
pizza and make a party out of it.

Hello everyone --

I'm working on a smaller tower project to put up an experimental repeater here
in Corvallis, OR. I was wondering if there was anyone in the Willamette Valley
area that might have a gin pole that would work on Rohn 25G that I could borrow
or rent for a couple of days. Thank you for your time and any help that anyone
can provide.
