Just depends.
If it's tall and you have to take it down, it's worth nothing more than your
labor. If you can lower 40' with a rope, that's something else (no
climbing).
I just bought 70' in fair condx, some light rust, for $150, about the low
end.
Like new it could well be $50-60, about half new.
I've seen a lot go at $30-40.
Remember, the market for used towers is very small and shrinkiing all the
time.
Professional removal is prohibitively expensive, more than the tower is
worth. I wanted 70' taken down and the prices started at $800. I told the
owner I'd give $500 for it once on teh ground...never heard more. The
climbers have you by the short hairs, since all commercial work requires
certification.
Regulations/insurance seem to have about priced most of us out of
professional services. You don't want to take a chance on being responsible
for an uninsured climber's injuries!!
