Another GOOD reason to "Follow the mfg's specs" is IF there is a problem, like
storm damage, wind, etc....... AND you did your own back of the envelope
figuring, instead of relying on the mfgs specs or a set of specs from a
licensed engineer, and the tower comes down......... your homeowners insurance
would have an out to not pay, even if you have a rider on the
policy................ Hummmmmmm, let's think about that, eh?
Sounds like someone who has never built anything on his own. If you need a
lawyer or engineer to approve it you'll never get anything done...Dick
