I have an HDX-5106, a superset of the HDX-589. I recommend
you simply make a 3 wire extension for the up/down switch.
The 3 wire extension should be only long enough to allow the user
to stand clear of the tower and antenna while raising,
as a safety measure. I don't recommend remoting the tower
to some distant control point and letting the tower go up and down
unsupervised. Too many things to go wrong.

If you prefer, you can put relays across the up/down switch
to allow that extension to have low voltage on it for the relay
coils.

I have the "official" UST control box, which I have never hooked
up.
