A correction to a little misinformation:

GH Everyware does not use WiFi. It uses a lower data rate, narrower
bandwidth, more robust protocol developed for wireless industrial controls
like gas wellhead monitoring and PLC/RTU command and control.

WiFi is better for very short range/wide bandwidth systems, like internet
systems. 802.15.4 is much better for longer range, narrow bandwidth needs
like picking relays, or polling rotator data. They both share, and co-exist
quite well in the ISM 2.4 GHz band.
