The TriEX CT-100 I use is positive crank-down and it bottoms on a pedestal.
You can crank until the motor belts catch fire!

I think crank-ups with positive pull-down are never fully "lowered" and are
still supported by their lift cable.
I know this is the case with my LM-470.
