Hi Tony -
Some time ago I tracked a 60 foot pole. It worked fine but then I "inherited" a tower. I haven't seen the track/ "carriage" you reference but it sounds like a good starting point. However, don't loose track of the torque the antenna will subject the track to. Perhaps matching cross bars on the tower and carriage that could be bolted together when the carriage/antenna is up and in place. I used nesting channel beams, but still bolted them together. I also fabricated a cap for the top of the pole that incorporated front and back sheaves to handle the hoisting cable.
Good luck with your project.

I have a old EZ-way tower (RBX-50) and NO WAY would I
use any kind of plastic/nylon pulley on that lift system!!!

Charlie is correct . i have a 40 foot pole the power company installed a few years back when they put in the drop . they installed the drop going under my extented 70 ft tower with a 4 ele quad.. when i got home i was amazed they had done this.. could not crank the tower down. called the power company they set a new pole and moved the drop. but left the old pole. told me i could have it.. well i am looking at putting barn door track up one side and a wench on the other. and putting my spare CL-36 on it. finding a saddle type pulley has been a problem to go on top of the pole. i think i have found a good one at grangers. that will bolt to the top of the pole but i will have to make a cable keeper to go over the top so the cable will not come out if slack gets into in some how. they also have a small 4 pulley trolley assmy that will ride in the barn door track. and will mount to a mast plate for the rotor.. now to find some heavy duty barn door track in the area ..
