Jim,

I replaced a T2X Tailtwister with a Yaesu G-2800DXA and other than rewiring the
plug on each end, I had to change nothing at all. The fit was perfect. I do use
a thrust bearing to carry all of thee weight of a Force-12 C-4XLD on a Hy-Gain
HG-54HD crank-up tower.

I checked the catalog and the G-2800DXA is rated to support 661# of vertical load so the thrust bearing only needs to remove the leverage. There is no need for the thrust bearing to support any of the load if its less than 661#.

I'm thinking of using the Yaesu G-2800DXA or the Orion 2800PDX which will support "1800" pounds and has 17,000" pounds of torque.

Subject: [TowerTalk] HAM IV Height

Greetings,

I'm replacing a HAM IV with a Yaesu G-800GXA and concerned about the depth
of the mast into the rotor housing.

What is the dimension on the HAM IV from the mounting plate to the point
that the bottom of the mast rests?
