To my knowledge, Yaesu does not repair the rotor or the control box.  They
will sell you the control box but its not cheap AT ALL!  They will also sell
the stand alone rotor without the control box.  

 

To properly debug the problem, it is always handy to have an extra Yaesu
control box so that it can be swapped out to see if the problem is the box
or the cable/rotor.  I have actually found the rotor itself to be darned
reliable.  But the boxes are incredibly fragile to all kinds of stuff.  I
have a grave yard of a number of boxes and have a winter project in mind to
try and make one good or maybe two good boxes out of them so I have spares.
Its not a matter of IF you need to replace a Yaesu rotor control box - it's
a matter of when.
