I had an HDBX48 for 15 years in W1.  It had a TH5DX and a shorty rotary 40M
dipole on it.  It was a tank.  It was bought new in 1980.

 

The key is in the base - build it exactly to Rohn Base and make sure you use
the Rohn buried base section. 

 

Its not trivial to left those first couple of sections.  And its not climber
friendly - but you get over it after buying the new bots you will certainly
buy.

 

I would have zero concerns about that set up now - assuming the specs of the
tower haven't changed.  The sq ft on that was probably about 6 sq ft.  And
it was NEVER challenged despite a hurricane and a number of blizzards.  In
open space.
