Could it be that LMR400 wasn't available or too expensive way back when the 
Mosley manual was written??

##  LMR 400 wont flex, it has a 10 ga solid center  conductor.   LMR-400UF 
would work.  As long as its
50 ohms, and flexible, it will work.   For folks with rotary towers, rigid coax 
can be used  from each yagi
to a remote switch box.   The only coax that needs to flex is the loop at the 
base of the tower.  Event hat
short piece can be spliced back into more rigid stuff..and off to the station 
100 ft away.
