Remember that he is in a hurricane prone area. He is south of the Florida Keys and I believe the Keys have a 115 mph, or greater, wind speed factor. I saw what happened to channel six's tower, which was located near Homestead, FL when hurricane Andrew ripped south Florida apart.

Hi Douglas,

I don't think you have to worry about fixing the tower base to the roof as you
are guying the tower in two places.

You can, simply, mix some cement (without any rocks) and make yourself a little
platform slightly larger than the tower base. If you plan to remove the tower
at some time in the future I suggest you spread out the cement over a single
plastic sheet at the spot where you are putting the tower. That way you are
able to remove the cement without leaving any marks.

Before the cement hardens you level off the top surface so you have the
horizontal surface you are looking for. I don't believe you have to anchor the
base, just rely on the friction between the base and the cement unless you have
some really windy conditions.

Good luck with your installation and use of your tower,

Thanks Ron,

Interesting idea using a solid hard wood shim a little larger than the base.

Bolts diameters are 3/8".

Bolts length are 2 1/2".

are not ok 4 bolts with that dimension to fix a base to the roof for 3 tower
sections like Rohn 25G ?

Doug,

See attachment. You can make a solid hard wood shim a little larger than
the base. You would need longer bolts. 3/8" does not sound very big. Use
as
large as practical.

Good luck with your project.

Hi,

I would like install an small tower over the concrete roof, only 3
sections, 10 ft each. 2 set of guy wires (3 + 3).

I install the 3 anchor points but when i try intall the tower base i
found
the roof is not 100 % flat. It is an sloping or pitching roof...it is
very
soft...about 5, 7 or 10 degrees. i am planning bolt the base to the roof
but not crossing the roof...i will bolt the base in 4 points with 3/8
inch
bolts and will drill about 2 1/2 inch inside the roof.

How can i correct the sloping to put the base 100% flat (level) ???

Thanks,
