Bentonite is not a good conductor when dry, more accurately termed an insulator
when dry. Places in Hawaii have dry volcanic rock for soil and it is a poor
conductor. If soil with a high Bentonite content is wet its conductivity will
be greatly improved.

Good luck with your project.

A quick question...

Since Bentonite is such a good conductor and in Hawaii baths with
Bentonite are touted as being physically beneficial (using the native soil),
can I
conclude the soil conductivity is pretty good?

Tomorrow I leave for KH6 to build the new station which has deep volcanic
soil at least 10 feet deep?
