When I was a Novice licensee and dreamed of building a cheap quad (which
never happened), I read of using bamboo poles as spreaders. The intent was to
wrap each pole in fiberglass tape to impart some weatherproofing. It was
suggested in these various sources that local rug and carpeting stores might be
a source. Of course, that was 5 decades ago and rugs may not come wrapped
around bamboo anymore.

I know that Cubex sells fiberglass poles I could use for spreaders.
Does anyone know of any other sources for fiberglass poles?

Thanks
