This is good 50 ohm cable, though I wonder if they really have the
long discontinued LDF5-50A. The $13 connector fits the RFS Cellflex
1/2" cable. Connectors for 7/8" are $30, still not bad.
I have used and am using LDF5-50A and LCF78-50 at HF through UHF
though I am not sure mine is the 'JA' variety. LDF5-50A and the
LCF78-50 I have are very similar except for a different type of foam
being used for the dielectric. I have successfully spliced the two
types of cable for the 375 foot run to my TH-11DX. Yes, this is
probably overkill at HF, but I am an overkill kind of guy where
possible. I *hate* losing valuable RF! ;)

Tim,
Got any responses on this yet ?
I am thinking of trying some 7/8" hard line from Davis RF.
It is their 7/8" RFS Cellflex. The connectors aren't too expensive,
about $13.00.
Here's is their page for info.

Anyone have any experience with this stuff ?
I understand it is used a lot on cell towers.

Several years ago I was able to get about 100 feet of 7/8" Hardline
from our local cable tv company as they were replacing it with heliax.
If it is useful for my tower rebuild, I would like to put it into
service there. The question of matching and connectors rears its ugly
head. Again realizing that I am probably about to start a firestorm,
I am asking for input / suggestions
Thanks
